Sti Cazzi Players was founded late one night in 2021 by a couple of friends, drunk on $8 wine, sitting in a dorm kitchen. Since then, we have grown to a larger collective of artists, with the common goal of pushing the limits of performance in pursuit of beautiful work. ‘Sti Cazzi’ is Roman slang, loosely translated to “these dicks.” A tad vulgar, perhaps, but our name eludes to our commitment to raw, daring, art. We entered the theater space at Columbia as self-dubbed pests–the kind of art we wanted to make was not the norm. We want to push boundaries, explore, fail, and try again. Backstage at each performance, we like to give the dare of “fuck shit up.” We get wild, get crazy, and have fun.
We have had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse array of partners and organizations, including cultural institutions, fellow artists, and community groups. Our work reflects our commitment to fostering meaningful connections and engaging with the local artistic community! We have worked with playwrights, visual artists, actors, directors, musicians, film-makers, and dancers–and we would love to work with you!
